4. Monthly storage fees of $20.00 per item will be added to the total amount due for every month after the initial 30 days, with the total being reported to a Collection Agency if still unpaid after 6 months.

T-Shirt Quilts:

1. T-shirt Quilts are created from T-shirt graphics. Some shirts have both front and back graphics that you want to use, some might only have front graphics or maybe you don't want to use the back. Please mark any of the graphics that you want to use, painters tape works great for this.

2. Sizes of T-Shirt Quilts can be customized between what you're wanting, and how many shirts you provide. If you have less shirts, I can cut them larger to fill up space or use a border sashing in between the shirts. If you have more shirts, I can cut them smaller to fit them all into the quilt. That being said, 10 shirts will not make a queen size quilt, so there are some limits to what size can be made based on how many graphics you provide.  Please refer to my Pricing Graphic (posted at the bottom of the page) to see a suggestion of how many graphics can be used for a specific size.

3. A traditional T-shirt Quilt uses a division of graphic squares across and down to make up the quilt, for example 5 squares wide and 6 squares long would need a total of 30 t-shirt graphics. I.e. If you provide 37 T-shirt graphics, then I would use them to create a quilt that is 6 squares wide, and 6 squares long, then use the front and back of one shirt that has smaller graphics to combine them and create one of the squares to properly use all 37 graphics.

4. There might be times when I would utilize a blank side of a shirt. For example, if you provide 29 shirts then I might use a blank back of a shirt to make up one more spot to fill in a quilt that would be 5 squares wide and 6 squares long, instead of having to minimize several other shirts to make it 5 squares wide by only 5 squares long. Blank squares are used on the bottom of the quilts or the sides, where they're often not easily seen when placed on a bed. IF YOU DO NOT WANT BLANK SQUARES USED, PLEASE NOTE THAT UP FRONT WHEN YOU ORDER.

5. The backing of a quilt is generally a solid color cotton, much like the texture of a bedsheet, and is bought custom per order so I can provide any color you request. For other types of specially requested material for the backing (such as fleece, or a special print), an upcharge for material cost will be charged.

6. We do also create double sided T-Shirt quilts upon request,  but the charge is different from our standard pricing due to the labor intensiveness of creating 2 quilt faces, so a special quote can be given upon request.

7. Please make any special requests for graphic placement up front, i.e. "I want the #1 Dad shirt to be in the center of the quilt with the #1 Son shirt beside it". Otherwise placement of graphics is made based on proper disbursement of color and patterns and is completely based on the judgement of Mel's Simple Creations. By asking us to create your Quilt you're providing a certain level of artistic freedom, outside of your specific requests, to assemble your quilt in the most aesthetically pleasing way possible. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT LAID OUT BEFORE IT IS ASSEMBLED PLEASE REQUEST THAT AT THE TIME OF YOUR ORDER. A picture of the assembled front will be sent once it is together, but if you do not like the placement of the squares and want it changed, an additional charge will be accrued due to the labor intensive job of taking it back apart to rearrange it. In some cases, rearrangement may not be possible due to the material type or other factors.

8. Our quilts are conducted using a Quilt-As-You-Go Method, meaning that the batting is attached with every square as the front is assembled. The backing is then attached and tacked into the front "In The Ditch" (meaning it is stitched in the seamlines where it can't be seen).  There are other quilters that do topstitch quilting, however I have had to repair so many quilts from other quilters from the topstitching stretching or tearing the t-shirts, that I will never finish a quilt in this way.

Keepsake Bears

1. Keepsake Bears can be made from almost any type of fabric, or even a combination of different items. You can pick the color of eyes, as well as several other personalization options.

2. Please keep in mind that these are not like factory made stuffed animals. They are made from used fabric, which often times is thinner than new fabric, the holes used to stuff them are hand sewn closed, and the arms and legs are hand sewn on. I use thick high quality thread and attach them as securely as possible, but on occasion a seam will come open or an extremity might fall off. I purposely attach them in a way that makes it more likely for the thread to give if they're pulled on than for the fabric to tear, so that they're fixable if that ever happens. And I will always repair them free of charge, no matter the cause!

You can easily place an order for Keepsake Bears by using the form located here. I will email you after I receive the form to set up a way to meet you with you to get the clothing items!
